What is Ear Filler?

Ear filler injects hyaluronic acid (HA) filler into thin or flat earlobes to add volume and create plumper, fuller-looking lobes. It shapes the rounded, full earlobe line often associated with a 'lucky' or attractive ear, and it can also help when thin lobes make earrings feel heavy or droop. It is performed in a single session, with the amount used adjusted to the lobe's condition and the look desired. Like refilling a flattened cushion so it plumps up again, soft HA is added inside the thinned lobe to shape a fuller, more voluminous form.

Who it may be considered for

Ear Filler may be considered in the following situations.

• The earlobes are thin or flat and the aim is a fuller, more balanced shape
• Ageing or repeated wearing of earrings has reduced earlobe volume and made them look stretched
• The aim is to naturally refine differences in size, shape, or volume between the two ears
• The ears sit close to the head so they are barely visible from the front, or the face looks relatively wide as a result
• The aim is a shape in which the upper ear or helix line is more defined so that the ears stand out naturally — the so-called "elf ear" look
• The aim is to adjust the position and projection of the ears for a more balanced overall proportion between the face and ears

The medical team judges suitability individually after assessing the thickness and shape of the ears, left-right balance, the structure of the helix, and the desired design. Treatment may be restricted during pregnancy or breastfeeding, when there is active infection, inflammation, or an open wound in the treatment area, or when there is a history of allergy or hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid or any ingredient used in the treatment. Please inform the medical team before treatment if you have a bleeding disorder or are taking anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, or other medication that can affect bleeding.

What happens at the visit

1) Consultation: the doctor reviews the thickness, shape and left-right balance of the lobes and the medical history (pregnancy, medications, allergies, prior procedures), then decides the product (domestic, or a brand such as Belotero, Restylane or Juvederm) and the amount to match the volume desired.

2) Topical anesthesia: a numbing cream is applied for about 30 minutes to reduce discomfort.

3) Authenticity & charting: the chosen product is prepared at an appropriate dose, and the product name and amount used are recorded on the chart.

4) Injection: using a fine needle or cannula, HA is distributed evenly into the earlobe tissue in small amounts, with the amount adjusted while checking left-right balance and a plump contour and shaping it so it does not feel firm.

5) Finishing: the injected area is gently shaped, a light cold compress may be used to soothe it, and aftercare guidance is given for home care.

The injection takes about 10-20 minutes and is performed in a single session. If additional reinforcement is needed, it can be adjusted with an extra 1cc and similar, depending on the condition.

Safety and aftercare

Ear Filler is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Treatment may be restricted if there is active infection, inflammation, or an open wound in the treatment area, or if you have experienced an allergic or hypersensitivity reaction to hyaluronic acid (HA) or any other ingredient used in the treatment. Please also inform the medical team before treatment if you have a bleeding disorder or are taking anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, or other medication that can affect bleeding.

After treatment, redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, or temporary firmness may occur at the injection sites, and in most cases these gradually settle over time. If there is swelling or discomfort, light cold compresses — without pressing the treated area firmly — may help.

Although rare, vascular complications can occur with filler treatment. If pain is severe or progressively worsens after treatment, or if the skin turns white or becomes mottled red or purple, contact the clinic immediately or seek medical care.

For about one to two days after treatment, avoid activities that can increase swelling and warmth, such as saunas, hot compresses, vigorous exercise, and alcohol, and keep the treated area clean.
