What is CryoCell Treatment?

CryoCell Treatment is a low-stimulation soothing care that uses a chilled probe and a gentle microcurrent — no heat or lasers — to calm the skin and help soothing, hydrating serums absorb. It is often used to settle the heat and redness left after heat-based treatments such as lasers or radiofrequency. No anesthesia is needed and there is essentially no downtime, so patients can return to the day right away. Like laying a cool, damp cloth over a flushed face after a workout to settle the heat, then letting a layer of nourishment seep in.

Who it may be considered for

If you have the following skin concerns, CryoCell Treatment may be considered.

  • The aim is to calm heat or redness in the skin after energy-based procedures such as lasers, RF, or POTENZA
  • The skin is reactive or flushes easily after irritation and cooling, soothing care is needed
  • The skin feels warm or burning and comfortable soothing is desired
  • Hydration care using a moisturizing ampoule is desired alongside soothing
  • Soothing care with less skin burden and downtime than strongly irritating care is preferred

The care intensity and whether it can be applied are judged individually by the medical team after assessing the skin's sensitivity and current condition such as warmth and redness.

What happens at the visit

1) After cleansing and a skin check, soothing and hydrating serums (ampoules) are applied.

2) A chilled cooling probe is glided over the skin in slow, sweeping motions to cool and calm the surface. Patients are told it feels cold before the probe touches the skin.

3) During this step patients gently hold a metal probe. This completes a very mild electrical circuit so the serums absorb better — most people feel only a faint tingle, if anything. If it ever feels too strong, a cotton pad is wrapped around the probe to soften the sensation; just inform the doctor.

4) The standard course is cooling, then LED light and a peel-off soothing mask to finish and calm the skin. When added as a finishing step to another treatment, the cooling stage may be kept shorter.

Total time for a standalone session is about 20 minutes, with no anesthesia required.

Safety and aftercare

If there is an open wound, oozing, active infection, or severe inflammation in the treatment area, it is recommended to avoid that area or to proceed after the skin has fully recovered. If you have a condition in which symptoms are triggered or worsened by cold, such as cold urticaria or Raynaud's phenomenon, or have previously reacted excessively to cold, please inform the medical team before treatment.

When microcurrent is used together, please inform the medical team before treatment if you are using an implantable electronic medical device such as a pacemaker or defibrillator, have metal implants in the treatment area, or have a history of seizures or epilepsy. If you are pregnant, please also inform the medical team before treatment and confirm whether the care can be provided.

A cold sensation or mild stinging may be felt during treatment, and temporary redness or a cold feeling may occur immediately afterwards. If you feel excessive pain, stinging, numbness, or discomfort, please tell the medical team immediately; the intensity will be adjusted or treatment stopped according to the skin condition.

Frequently asked questions

When Will CryoCell Treatment Results Appear — and How Long Do They Last?

When the cold probe touches the skin, patients may feel a cool, settling sensation that helps calm heat and redness. The soothing, hydrating serums delivered with the microcurrent can help skin feel moisturized and smooth, and the LED light and mask add a final calming step. These results are not permanent and are not the same for everyone — how long they last varies with the skin condition and any procedure done alongside it. A calmed condition tends to stay more comfortable when paired with home care, such as keeping skin well hydrated and avoiding heat and irritation. For ongoing calming and hydration, periodic sessions tailored to the skin are recommended.

Does CryoCell Treatment hurt or sting?

It is a gentle soothing care with no anesthesia required. Patients feel a cool sensation at first, and the microcurrent feels mild. If it ever feels too strong, a cotton pad is wrapped around the probe to lower the intensity — just inform the doctor.

Can daily activities resume right after CryoCell Treatment?

Yes. There is essentially no downtime, so patients can cleanse, apply basic skincare, and wear makeup afterward. If a heat-based treatment was done alongside it, follow that treatment's guidance, including on sun exposure and saunas.

Can CryoCell Treatment be combined with other treatments?

Yes. It is commonly added as a finishing step to settle heat and redness after heat-based procedures such as lasers, RF, or Potenza. It can also be done on its own as a calming session.

How often is CryoCell Treatment recommended?

There is no fixed number of sessions; it depends on the skin and any treatments done with it. For soothing and hydration, periodic sessions matched to the skin condition are recommended — the team will advise the right interval during consultation.
