What is V-Olet?
V-OLET is a contouring injection that places deoxycholic acid — a bile acid the body already uses to break down fat — directly into stubborn pockets of localized fat. Rather than a massage that just drains puffiness, it works on the fat cells themselves. The visit is short (about 15 minutes), but the change appears gradually over days to weeks. Like dabbing a grease-cutting cleanser onto one specific spot — the body's own fat-dissolving bile acid is brought directly to stubborn, localized fat.
Who it may be considered for
V-OLET may be considered in the following situations.
- Submental fat remains even after weight management and a double chin is a concern
- Submental fat blurs the boundary between the jawline and the neck
- Gradual improvement of submental fat by injection rather than surgical fat removal is preferred
The medical team judges suitability individually after assessing the amount and distribution of submental fat, skin sagging, and the facial contour. Treatment may be restricted during pregnancy or breastfeeding or when there is active infection in the treatment area. Please also inform the medical team before treatment if you have a bleeding disorder, are taking anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, or other medication that can affect bleeding, have difficulty swallowing, or have had previous surgery or procedures in the submental area.
What happens at the visit
1. Consultation and assessment — fat distribution and the target area are reviewed using contour-diagnostic imaging where appropriate to confirm suitability, and the injection sites, dose, and number of sessions are planned based on that assessment.
2. Mapping and cleansing — the injection points are marked and the area is thoroughly disinfected.
3. Injection — small amounts of deoxycholic acid are injected into the subcutaneous fat at the marked points, spaced evenly across the area.
4. Aftercare — light compression and a cold compress are applied right away to manage swelling and discomfort.
Total treatment time is around 15 minutes.
Safety and aftercare
Treatment is restricted if there is active infection in the treatment area or a history of allergy or hypersensitivity to deoxycholic acid or the components of the product. Please also inform the medical team before treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a bleeding disorder, or are taking anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, or other medication that can affect bleeding. If you have difficulty swallowing or have experienced it in the past, or have had surgery or another procedure in the submental area, please also be sure to inform us in advance.
After treatment, reactions such as swelling, pain, bruising, firmness, numbness, warmth, or redness may occur, and in most cases these gradually settle over time. Depending on the individual, swelling, firmness, or reduced sensation may persist for a relatively long time. If there is pain or discomfort, light cold compresses may help, and acetaminophen-class analgesics may be taken if needed.
Rarely, the marginal mandibular nerve may be affected, causing the mouth to look temporarily asymmetric when smiling or weakening movement of the surrounding muscles, and discomfort on swallowing may also occur. If such symptoms appear, or if pain, swelling, or skin changes worsen or persist, medical assessment is required.

Frequently asked questions
How many sessions are needed?
A schedule at four-week intervals over several sessions is typical; the count is not fixed and depends on the amount of fat and the area. The individual's exact plan is set by the medical team after assessment.
Does V-OLET hurt? Will I swell?
Swelling and tenderness can occur, usually peaking around 3 hours after treatment. Swelling and pain ease over 3-7 days, and patients can generally resume daily activities the next day. A cold compress is the preferred first step; consultation with the medical team is recommended before taking any medication.
When will I see a change?
Because the broken-down fat is cleared gradually through metabolism, change appears progressively over the course of sessions rather than instantly, and varies from person to person.
How long does the result last?
The fat cells that are broken down and reduced do not easily come back, but a significant weight gain can enlarge the remaining fat cells, so keeping up weight and lifestyle management after treatment helps. Whether to maintain or add sessions is discussed with the medical team as the progress is reviewed.
How long does the appointment take?
Including mapping and cleansing, the treatment itself takes about 15 minutes, finishing with a brief cold compress. Note that while the appointment is short, recovery (swelling and tenderness) can continue for a few days, so plan the schedule accordingly.
